snow in October??

Two weeks ago I was walking around in shorts thanking God for stretching out the summer, and now snow? Unfortunately, the snow was more sleety than fluffy and no good to play in, although we tried for a bit. Coop also came down with something yesterday (possibly the flu) and I didn't want to keep him outside for too long. When all was said and done, we only got about 1/2 inch at our house, and it was really heavy and icy. On another note, Coop had his 15 month well check up yesterday (no vaccines because of the fever) and everything looks good. After his first year of hanging out in the teens percentile for his weight, he shot up in to the 69th percentile.. and 81st for his height. My main concern for this appointment was that he does not have any single words yet. He jabbers a lot, but no momma, no dadda.. etc. The pediatrician feels comfortable waiting until his 18 month check up before referring him to a speech therapist because he is so social and he does communicate with a few signs. But, during the visit, Cooper let out his first word.. Dog! He says "dah, uh uh", the uhs are barks. Hopefully he learns fast from here. I'll try to get some photos up later of the snow!

Visit from T-Bop and Memae

Coop in his halloween costume

My parents came into town a couple weeks ago and we had so much fun! My mom brought up a costume for Cooper, and he is too cute in it! Adam and I took advantage of having babysitters while they were here and attended the navy ball and also a football game in New Jersey. Here are some great pictures by the one and only Tom Roskay.

It's fall here in upsate New York and Cooper and I are enjoying all that this wonderful season has to offer! The weather has been amazing, ranging from the 30s in the morning all the way up to the 70s in the afternoon. Coop needs to be outside everyday, he is such a boy. Clark doesn't complain because he loves it outside too! We play in the driveway pretty much everyday and usually end our playtime with a walk around the block, Coop rides in his carraige, aka his wagon. Today we went on a trip to Sunnyside Gardens, it's a big pumkin patch with other fun attractions. There are train and hay rides, a jack-o-lantern hall of fame, and familiar looking scarecrows (the widard of oz cast was my favorite!). Coop, although a little overwhelmed, had a great time, and even danced to the tunes of a bluegrass band before we left. Next week, my parents are coming up and I cant wait to have someone to habg out with! Adam has been at work a lot lately, and my good friend is out of town for a few weeks. That's all for now, here are a few pics of Coop and I enjoying God's masterpiece.

Just hangin out

Cooper's 2nd haircut
I stopped cleaning for a moment to write about how adorable my son is. Of course, by the time I got to the computer, he was driving me crazy! We are cleaning this morning because Randy and Karen, my father-in-law and his wife, are coming to visit today. We have had so much company lately. Mom and Tom came in July for Coop's bday. Then in August Adam's mom and step-dad (Peggy and Al) came, followed my Sarah and Chris, and finally my cousin Christina. After this visit, my parents are coming back up in October, and then Randy and Karen again for Thanksgiving. We are so thankful for any visitors, we really miss everyone back home. Here are some pictures of Coop around town. (Sorry Abby, I'm sure you don't approve of the horse track. But, I wanted to experience Saratoga Springs!)
He wasn't a fan!

Great ending though!

1st year check up

Adam didn't know reindeers really existed

this horse was HUGE!!

talking to the horse.. giddy up!

train ride, I think he sucked down 20 oz of water/juice the 2 hours we were there!

Cooper passed his first year check up with flying colors. Unfortunately he has become a toddler, throwing fits, not eating, you name it! He weighs 23 lbs 7 oz, and is 31.25 in long. Crazy, right? He was so brave when it came to his shots. He just looked up at us with those innocent eyes while the nurse quickly stabbed him in each thigh. He let out a terrible scream, but dad scooped him up and calmed him down in a couple minutes.

my little destroyer!
He isn't saying any words yet, I cannot wait for that first real momma! He is cruising around the house, though. He loves to run to the stairs and have me chase him, baby gates to come soon! Adam and I have found a great babysitter, and we went on a date night last night. A note to all parents.... go on date nights!!! Here are a few pictures of Coop from the county fair that we went to a few days ago. It was 99 degrees outside when we got back to the car, so if we look hot, we were! Cooper really enjoyed his first pony ride! He was talking ans singing through it. We have videos, but I cant get this site to upload them. Here are a few pics from playtime around Saratoga Springs.
